With over seven years of real estate expertise within the Gunnison Valley, Cassie Gates is a trusted associate broker at LIV Sotheby’s International Realty, specializing in Crested Butte and Gunnison properties. Since earning her license in 2017, Cassie has successfully helped her clients navigate a diverse range of transactions, from luxury listings and first-time homeowners to managing large scale new developments and new construction projects. Cassie’s journey in the industry began in 2018 when she joined LIV Sotheby’s as an office administrator. This strategic decision allowed her to gain a solid foundation in transaction management, market trends, and client service. Her meticulous attention to detail and process-driven mindset have since become hallmarks of her professional style, ensuring smooth and efficient transactions for her clients.

Before real estate, Cassie honed her logistical expertise through a chemistry degree and a career in wilderness expedition guiding across Alaska and Arizona. Her passion for the outdoors and love for the mountains ultimately drew her to the Gunnison Valley, where she thrived in property management before transitioning to real estate.

Outside of work, Cassie and her husband enjoy cultivating a self-sustaining lifestyle, brewing and cooking with homegrown fruits and vegetables, as well as exploring Colorado’s breathtaking landscapes through fishing, rafting, and camping. Cassie’s authentic approach to life and real estate continues to inspire her to help clients discover their dream homes and the vibrant mountain lifestyle they seek.

Martin's Story
Crested Butte has been in my blood all my life. I lived here as a child with my family, and although that was quite a few years ago, I have traveled back to this paradise every time I had the opportunity. Upon graduating from Texas Tech University, I married a wonderful woman and started a cattle business. Being a cowboy is the dream of nearly every little boy at some point in their childhood, but very few of us ever make it happen. My entrepreneurial spirit and never give up work ethic carried me through a 12 year career as a cattleman and a cowboy. It was exhilarating to spend my days on horseback and my evenings in the office, but I was always yearning for the mountains.
I always dreamed of someday making the move back to Crested Butte to raise my family, so in 2018 I finally did it! Real estate has always been a part of my life, so it was a seamless transition into the LIV Sotheby's International Realty team. Whether remodeling or building houses, buying and selling land, or developing raw land for residential construction, I have been exposed to and participated in many aspects of real estate through much of my adult life.
I bring a unique set of skills and experience to the table that make me a valuable partner to anyone looking to buy, sell, or develop real estate in the Crested Butte area. My time in the cattle industry meant negotiating lease agreements and sales contracts with land owners, livestock brokers, and other cattle owners often. These skills give me a leg up when it comes to negotiating contracts for my clients in Crested Butte. Currently, I am managing the development of Brush Creek Village and exploring other development opportunities in the area.
